PlayBack

Brooklyn-based PlayBack Clothing has put a unique spin on eco-clothing -- literally. It's a complicated process, but essentially the owners go to recycling plants, buy used plastic, melt it down and re-spin the fiber into yarn to create tees and hoodie sweatshirts. U2, Phish and Wilco have signed on to use PlayBack's line for their own branded merchandise.

Jimmy Choo president Tamara Mellon was apparently so impressed by the number of girls wearing wellies at last year’s mud-soaked music festivals, she wanted a piece of the action.
